The PGA bandwagon heads to South Carolina this week for the The RBC Heritage, previously known as the Heritage Classic or simply The Heritage. It is a prestigious event on the PGA Tour, it usually follows closely after The Masters.
Since its inception, the tournament has found its home at the Harbour Town Golf Links within the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island. Designed by the renowned golf architect Pete Dye, in collaboration with Jack Nicklaus, the Harbour Town course consistently earns accolades, often making it onto lists of the "Best Courses." This is one of the flagship events for the PGA Tour and it does seem strange being directly after The Masters! This golf course is tailor-made for players with precision and finesse, as demonstrated by the lineup of past victors, names like Davis Love, Branden Grace, Stewart Cink, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, and Jim Furyk. Notably, Luke Donald has clinched the runner-up position five times on this course. Distance is not so much an asset here as its imperative to find the fairways and stay out of trouble. Its interesting that Shane Lowry ranks top of driving accuracy percentage for the year to date with 238/280 fairways hit for an 85% strike rate. He finished a close third here in 2022 and we think he is attractively priced to have another crack (48.0 with 3ET). Another player we are interested in is Lucas Glover, the veteran is playing some excellent Golf lately culminating in his best finish at the Masters last week (T20). Glover ranks very high in SG: Approach & Driving Accuracy Percentage which are both crucial at Harbour Town. His recent form coupled with his underlying stats make him too big a price here (75.0 with 3ET)
Selections:
Shane Lowry @ 48.0
Lucas Glover @ 75.0
