PGA Tour - The Mexico Open 2024

Modified on Wed, 21 Feb at 2:33 PM

The Mexican Open which is also known as the Mexico Open, is the national open golf tournament of Mexico. In 2022, the tournament became an official event on the PGA Tour, with a purse of $7,300,000 and awarding 500 FedEx Cup points to the winner.

The tournament is played on the Vidanta Vallarta course in Vallarta, Mexico. It is a Greg Norman design featuring paspalum grass fairways and greens. Tony Finau is the only past winner in the field. He arrives here the defending champion after an excellent three shot victory over Rahm last season. He is currently priced at 9.2 with 3et Sportsbook, and we don’t see much value in taking anything close to that about a defence.

This course is very long for a Par 71 (7,456 yards) so driving distance and accuracy are of upmost importance. It helps to look at the birdie makers on Tour this season to try point us to a possible winner. An interesting outsider this week could be S.H. Kim, He ranks 68th in SG: Of the Tee and 23rd in Birdie average (4.94). Kim finished T24 here last year, despite letting himself down with his approach play. If he can tidy a few things up, we believe he has an excellent chance this week.

Selection: SH Kim @ 60.0 with 3ET Sportsbook
