Is there a max per event/match betting limit?

When you place your bet, you'll see the maximum betting amount available per event or match displayed in the betting box.

Please note that even though you can submit bets exceeding this displayed maximum limit, the bet will be placed based on how much is available at exactly the time the bet is submitted. In other words your submitted stake may be partially matched.
